What is the CAT WHEEL?

If you want to understand cat behaviour, you first need to know what you are looking at.

Behaviour never appears out of nowhere. A cat does not urinate “out of stubbornness”, does not attack “to be naughty” and does not hide “for no reason”. Behind every behaviour lies a cause, a need, an emotion or a combination of factors that influence one another.

That is why I developed the CAT WHEEL.

The CAT WHEEL is a structured representation (or 'model') that guides you step by step through everything that can influence your cat's behaviour: her health, stress level, environment, safety, social relationships, communication, daily routines, character and past experiences.

Instead of immediately looking for a quick fix, you first learn to understand why your cat does what she does. Because only once you see the cause can you really change something.

What is the CAT MATRIX®?

After analysing cat behaviour and solving unwanted behaviour for years, I noticed that I kept giving the same advice over and over again.

For more than ten years I had tested and tried out so many different solutions that I knew very well what worked and what did not.

And in fact it did not matter much which behaviour was involved. Whether it was spraying, aggression, fear, insecurity, pica, house soiling, frustration or scratching: the solutions that really made a difference turned out to be the same ones every time.
